Mary Sumner Day Celebration 2010
9th August, Mary Sumner Day was celebrated in our Diocese by the Trustees inviting members who had completed 40 or more years in Mothers' Union.
Over 50 ladies gathered at St Mary's, Birnam for a beautiful service, conducted by Rev David Brooke and our President, Lesley Brooke.
Rev David spoke of remembering our mothers and many there remarked on how many memories he sparked into minds. This was followed by the most wonderful lunch all served and contributed by members of the Trustees Board.
Trish Heywood, past Worldwide President, entertained us after lunch with her stories of being a Mothers' Union member and where her life, as such, had taken her. Thanks were extended to Rev David, Lesley, the Trustees and Trish by Sheila Redwood on behalf of all who had attended.
