Members heard of the work of the Lodging House Mission from Elva Carlisle, a member
of the local Church of Scotland and the Guild, whose members work as volunteers at
the Mission. The Mission provides a safe and welcoming environment to Glasgow's homeless
and disadvantaged community by providing worship, fellowship, food and opportunities
to learn new skills.
Prayers were offered for the Mission, Christian Unity, St Ninian’s, all the neighbouring
faith communities and the work of Mothers’ Union locally and worldwide.
Members enjoyed fellowship and refreshments. Following offering thanks Elsie the
chair of the branch led the saying of the Grace, before members left for home.
The branch was joined by members of Bishopbriggs MU, the Diocesan Secretary and Diocesan
President all of whom enjoyed and learned from the meeting.
