Diocese of Moray, Ross & Caithness

Diocesan Service 2011

Over 40 members and friends attended the annual service held this year at St. John’s Arparfeelie on 17th September, and presided over by Bishop Mark Strange with assistance from the Diocesan Chaplain Rev. Jenny Sclater.

Towards the end of the service, the Bishop presented Jenny with a special MU stole which had been made by member Mrs. June Johnson. Afterwards, we all enjoyed a garden party, which due to the inclement weather, was held in the Bishop’s house.

This service was also the starting point for a Mission weekend for the Diocese.

Diocesan Quiet Day

7 May 2011

Thirty-two members and friends met together for a Quiet Day at the Diocesan centre at Arpafeelie on the Black Isle. It was led by the Revd. Canon Ruth Tait due to the illness of the Diocesan Chaplain Revd. Jenny Sclater, and was based around Doubting Thomas.

We were greeted on arrival by  Bishop Mark & his wife Jane, and invited to  make use of their house as well as the centre. Jane also sorted out all the food for lunch, while the rest of us enjoyed the retreat. Apart from a brief shower around lunch time, the weather was very good, and the hospitality and beautiful scenery, made it an enjoyable day for everyone.
